Brink's Mat

Brink's Mat
Brink’s Mat [Brinks Mat]
a British company, the owner of a building for storing valuable things at ↑Heathrow Airport. In 1983 thieves stole gold worth £26 million from the building. At that time it was Britain’s largest ↑robbery. The police spent many years investigating the crime, but it is still not certain that they have caught all the criminals. A lot of the money was never found and there have been nine murders of people who were connected with the crime. It is one of those crimes, like the ↑Great Train Robbery, that the British public and press like to talk about.
